Description
This rich and decadent frozen Mexican hot chocolate is what every hot summer day needs! Made with dark chocolate and sprinkled with a touch of cayenne pepper, it's the perfect blend of sweetness with a kick. This refreshing tasty treat is easy to make at home and made vegan and paleo-friendly!

- 1/2 cup dark chocolate (chips or chopped bar)
- 1 1/2 cup nut milk of choice
- 2 Tbsp coconut sugar
- 2 Tbsp cacao powder
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp espresso
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 2 cups ice
- optional toppings (coconut whipped cream, chopped chocolate, cayenne pepper)
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate in a skillet until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the nut milk and coconut sugar; stir until well blended. Add the cacao powder, vanilla, espresso, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and sea salt and continue to stir until no clumps remain
- Transfer the chocolate mixture to a bowl and place in fridge for about 10 minutes until cool
- In a blender, blend the cooled chocolate mixture and ice until creamy
- Pour into glasses and top with coconut whipped cream, additional chopped chocolate, and cayenne pepper, if desired
