Almond Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

With a soft, butter-like inside and crispy gold-brown edges, these almond butter chocolate chip cookies are the absolute very best. Made with natural ingredients like almond flour, coconut oil, and nut butter, they're a healthier twist on the classic.  Loaded with a generous sprinkle of chocolate chips of course, they’re bound to be a crowd favorite.


  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted, then cooled)
  • 1/3 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup arrowroot flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 - 1 cup chocolate chips (use 1/2 cup if you’d like just a sprinkle of chocolate chips and 1 cup for a more chocolatey cookie)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.  In a bowl, mix together the egg, coconut oil, almond butter, maple syrup, and vanilla until well combined
  2. Add the almond flour, arrowroot starch, baking powder & soda, and salt.  Fold to combine until no flour clumps remain
  3. Stir the chocolate chips into the batter and mix well
  4. Chill dough for 10 minutes while oven finished preheating and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease with oil
  5. Using an ice cream scoop or large spoon, roll the dough into balls then flatten the tops to make a disk-like shape, place on baking sheet, and bake for 8 - 10 minutes until the edges begin to brown
  6. Let cookies cool before transferring to a cooling rack
  7. Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 5 days on the counter
