step 1

Cream butter with orange zest in the bowl of a stand mixture until creamy in texture.

Add sugar, eggs, orange juice, and almond extract to the bowl. Mix well until eggs are fully broken up into the batter.

Add flour, baking soda, and baking powder to the bowl. Fold the flour mixture into the batter until no clumps remain.

Pour batter into 8-inch loaf pan lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with slivered almonds. Bake until sides turn dark brown.

In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest until thick and smooth. Allow cake to cool and pour glaze on top.
