Cream the butter with the orange zest until light and creamy.
Add the sugar, eggs, orange juice, and almond extract to the bowl and mix well.
Gently fold in the flour, baking powder, and baking soda to the batter.
Sprinkle slivered almonds over top of the batter and bake in the oven until the sides turn golden brown.
While the cake is baking, mix together the powdered sugar, orange juice, and zest in a small bowl.
Allow the loaf to cool before drizzling the glaze on top of the cake.
