Measure your ingredients. This is key to making macarons!

Heat the egg whites and sugar.

Whip the meringue until stiff peaks form.

Stir in the remaining filling ingredients and pour into cooled crusts. Refrigerate to set.

Add food coloring and continue to fold until you can make a figure 8 with the batter.

Pipe onto baking sheet, let set, and bake until risen.

step 7

Prepare the icing.

Pipe the icing onto the bottom of a macaron shell and press another shell on top to seal.
