Healthy Tzatziki Sauce

Skip the store-bought options, and make this easy healthy tzatziki sauce with dill at home with less than ten ingredients instead!

Ingredients

  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt plain and unsweetened (I use 2% but you can use a higher fat percentage for a richer sauce)
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon dill finely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • Grate the cucumber on a cutting board using the large holes in a box grater. No need to peel and deseed the cucumber as the large seeds and pieces of skin won’t get into the middle of the grater. Grate the cucumber then spoon the part in the middle of the grater into a bowl with a towel. Gently press the water out of the grated cucumber and set aside.

  • Add the greek yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, dill, sea salt, and pepper to a bowl and gently stir to combine.

  • Add the grated cucumber to the bowl and fold a few times to distribute.
  • Serve the tzatziki sauce in a bowl with crackers, veggies, or pita and enjoy!

Notes

Storage : Store the tzatziki in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
