I love a good salmon dinner and this sticky orange salmon does not disappoint! Everything is made in the same skillet and takes less than 20 minutes to make. Pair it with my caramelized brussel sprouts or mandarin orange salad and enjoy!

Why You'll Love Air Fryer Salmon Fillet

  • Sweet and savory
  • High protein
  • Gluten freenut free, and dairy free
  • Made with less than ten ingredients
  • Pairs well with a variety of sides

Ingredients and Substitutions

  • Salmon - fresh wild caught salmon filets are best but farm caught works too! Leave the skin on as it makes the salmon easier to cook.
  • Orange - fresh orange juice is best but if you need to use store-bought, use a natural one with no additives.
  • Honey - provides a natural sweetness to the sauce and a sticky consistency.
  • Coconut aminos - adds a umami flavor to the sauce. Swap with soy sauce if needed.

How to Make Orange Salon

Step 1 : Sauté the salmon. Season the salmon with salt and pepper and cook, skin side down, on a hot skillet with olive oil for 2 - 3 minutes. Flip the salmon over and cook for another 2 minutes until opaque all the way through.

Step 2 : Add the sauce ingredients. Pour the honey, orange juice, coconut aminos, and garlic over the salmon and allow the sauce to thicken up around the salmon.

Step 3 : Flip salmon over. Turn the salmon back over, skin side down, and use a spoon to drizzle the sauce over the top of the salmon. Serve and enjoy!

How to Store

Store the cooked salmon with the sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. When ready to enjoy, heat the salmon and sauce in the microwave for 8 second intervals until warm.

Expert Tips

  • Use high quality salmon filets which will cook best in a skillet.
  • Fresh orange juice is preferred, you only need about ½ an orange.
  • Stir the sauce around the salmon filets until it thickens up. This can take 1 - 2 minutes.
