Air Fried Teriyaki Salmon Bites Rice Bowl
If you’re craving a quick, flavor-packed dinner, these air fried teriyaki salmon bites are always my go-to. The salmon gets coated in a simple homemade teriyaki sauce made with coconut aminos, sesame oil, honey, and fresh garlic, then cooks up perfectly tender in the air fryer in just minutes. I love serving the salmon over brown rice with edamame and avocado, then finishing it off with a drizzle of creamy spicy yogurt sauce. It’s one of those easy meals that feels a little special but still works for busy weeknights.

The dinner-in-a-bowl I make on repeat
If you're a "dinner in a bowl" type of person like me, you're going to love these rice bowls with fried salmon bites. This is a dish that looks complicated but is actually simple and easy to whip up. You get well rounded meal with carbs, protein, and fat, the whole sha-bang! Even kids will love it!

I'm not exaggerating when I say my husband requests this every single week. And because it's SO simple to make and I usually have all the ingredients on hand (frozen salmon is a lifesaver), I happily oblige. Trust me, it's one you'll have on repeat too!

Salmon Teriyaki Recipe Ingredients
For this air fryer teriyaki salmon rice bowl, you’ll need salmon fillets (fresh or frozen both work). I used Atlantic salmon, but sockeye or king salmon work great too. The salmon gets coated in a quick teriyaki-style marinade made with coconut aminos (soy sauce is great too), a little sesame oil, garlic powder, and honey for that sweet, lightly crispy finish. Everything’s served over fluffy brown rice and finished with a creamy spicy yogurt sauce made from plain yogurt and your favorite hot sauce (sriracha works great if you want mild heat).
How to Make Air Fryer Teriyaki Salmon Bites
You will need a small mixing bowl for the marinade and an air fryer to make these crispy salmon nuggets.

Ansley's Tips
- Save some of the marinade and drizzle it over top of the cooked salmon for some extra teriyaki flavor.
- For easy clean up, line the air fryer basket with aluminum foil.
- Make sure to space out the marinated salmon cubes in the basket of your air fryer basket so they aren't touching each other. This will allow the entire salmon bite to get crispy.
- After 7 minutes, the salmon will have an internal temperature of about 140 degrees fahrenheit which is typically a fillet cooked "medium". If you prefer your salmon cooked more "medium-well" adjust the time to 8 - 9 minutes.
Salmon Teriyaki Bowl Variations
- Add some sriracha for a little extra heat
- Use cauliflower rice for a low carb option
- Add pickled cucumbers or carrots for extra crunch
- Use some seaweed paper and make your own wraps with the bowl ingredients
Can I make salmon bites on the stove?
Yes, these bites can also be made on the stove. Heat up some olive oil over medium heat and spread out the salmon cubes in the pan. Cook for 3 minutes before flipping each salmon cube over to cook for another 3 minutes until the edges are crispy.

Recipe

Crispy Air Fryer Teriyaki Salmon Bites Bowl
Ingredients
- 4 filets salmon - I used Atlantic but King or Sockeye will work too
- 4 tablespoon coconut aminos - or soy sauce
- 2 teaspoon sesame oil - you can use olive oil if needed
- 1 tablespoon honey
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
For the spicy yogurt sauce
- ¼ cup plain yogurt - I used 0% greek yogurt but any type of yogurt will work
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- ½ teaspoon chipotle powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
For the rice bowls
- 3 cups cooked brown rice
- 1 cup cooked edamame
- 1 avocado
Instructions
- Pat your salmon filets dry with a paper towel (this makes it easier to handle with your hands). Use a sharp knife to cut the skin off the filet if needed. Then cut the salmon filets into 2 inch cubes.4 filets salmon
- Add the coconut aminos, sesame oil, honey, garlic powder, and sea salt to a bowl and mix. Reserve a tablespoon of the marinade in a separate bowl (you can use this later to drizzle on top). Then add the salmon cubes to the large marinade bowl and gently toss together to coat. Allow the salmon to sit for at least 3 minutes to soak up the liquid.4 tablespoon coconut aminos, 2 teaspoon sesame oil, 1 tablespoon honey, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon sea salt
- Place the marinated salmon in the bottom of an air fryer basket, leaving space in between each one. Cook the salmon at 400 F for 7 minutes in the air fryer. The edges of each cube will get crispy and the teriyaki sauce will caramelize.
- While the salmon is cooking, prepare the spicy yogurt sauce in a small bowl by mixing together the yogurt, hot sauce, chipotle powder, paprika, and olive oil with a spoon until well combined.¼ cup plain yogurt, 1 teaspoon hot sauce, ½ teaspoon chipotle powder, ½ teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon olive oil
- To assemble the bowls, place 1 cup of cooked brown rice into the bottom of a bowl. Spoon a few of the fried salmon bites over top followed by a handful of edamame in a section of the bowl and a few avocado slices in another. Spoon some of the reserved marinade over top of the salmon bites and then drizzle the whole bowl with some spicy yogurt sauce and enjoy!3 cups cooked brown rice, 1 cup cooked edamame, 1 avocado

My new favorite recipe. So delicious. Next time I will try sriracha Mayo for the sauce and add it at room temp. The cold sauce wasn’t ideal. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the avocado so creamy. Great textures.
how many pounds of salmon do you recommend?
I use about 1 lb of salmon for 2 filets
This recipe looks amazing! I can't wait to make it for my husband!
Cheers,

I have Alpha-Gal and needed to switch up my salmon game. The salmon came out great! I used the say sauce and reduced the salt addition to 1/2. I made the sauce and two of us loved it! The others preferred a sriracha mayo. This is a definite for going into my dinner rotation. My son and I couldn't stop smiling 🙂 ot was that good!
We made this for dinner tonight and it was a hit! My cocunut aminos was thick though. It still came out delicious. Can you tell me which brand you used for the cocunut aminos?
I use the Thrive Market brand!
This was ohhh soooo good, salmon was awesome!!!! First air fryer attempt and will definitely make this again!!
Yay! I am so glad you enjoy the recipe!
This was the best dinner I’ve ever made!! My husband loved it too!
Thank you for the delicious recipe! If using uncooked salmon, make sure you’re not using marinade from the uncooked salmon bites, to drizzle on top of your final meal.
This is DELICIOUS!
Stumbled upon it about 2 weeks ago and have already made it for lunch 4 times. Today I made enough for my whole family (very picky husband, 6yr old, and 3 year old boys) and everyone devoured it. New favorite salmon recipe for sure!
This looks delicious!! Making it for dinner tonight. One tweak- you’ll want to set aside some of the marinade before adding the salmon at the beginning, that way you’re not using contaminated marinade (from the raw salmon) at the end.
This was DIVINE
This recipe is so good
This was easy, quick and delicious!!! A great air fryer recipe so I don’t heat up my kitchen in the AZ summer heat. I didn’t care for the sauce - maybe it was the hot sauce I used. I used sriracha for the leftovers and just put it on the brown rice. Will definitely make again!!!
We made sriracha/mayo and the sauce from the recipe. I had people from both (spicy) camps. We all agreed it was great!
Pro-tip: don’t sub soy sauce for the coconut aminos like the overview suggests. Or, If you do, don’t add the additional salt! We didn’t have coconut aminos on hand and the recipe came out way too salty. The salmon was cooked quite well at this temp, though-cool meal suggestion, will try again when we do have coconut aminos in the house.
We made this for dinner tonight and it was amazing! Definitely recommend using a hot sauce that has flavour and isn't just hot (I used Franks red hot - we're using a chili lime one next time). Super easy and quick to make with an amazing outcome. The best type of meals.
Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed the recipe.
