Electrolytes have taken the world by storm with their rehydrating and replenishing properties. I love to enjoy an electrolyte drink during the hotter months when I'm loosing a good amount of salt from sweat and it's also on my postpartum necessity lists.

Ingredients and Substitutions

  • Electrolyte powder - I like these zero sugar electrolyte packets but any type will work.
  • Frozen fruit - this is the key to the slushie consistency and adds natural flavors. Any frozen fruit will work depending on your flavor preference. Fresh fruit will work too but you might need to add another handful of ice.
  • Coconut water - known for it's rehydrating properties, coconut water is my preference for slushies. You can also use sparkling water to add a little fizz or regular water if needed.

How to Make RECIPE

Step 1 : Blend everything up. Use a high speed blender to ensure the ice is properly broken up into a slushie consistency.

Step 2 : Pour into glasses. Serve immediately with a large straw and enjoy!

Flavor recommendations

I made the following flavor combinations:

  • Cherry Lime - use 1 cup frozen cherries + 1 packet citrus electrolytes
  • Orange Peach - use 1 cup frozen peaches + 1 packet orange electroloytes
  • Strawberry Watermelon - use 1 cup frozen strawberries + 1 packet watermelon electrolytes
  • Raspberry Blackberry - use 1 cup frozen blackberries + 1 packet raspberry electrolytes

Frequently Asked Questions

My slushie is really icey, what happened?

Add splashes of coconut water or water to make the slushie less icey.
