Greek Yogurt Pizza Dough
This greek yogurt dough is the pizza crust you never knew you needed—protein‑packed, no-yeast, and ready in minutes. It’s soft yet sturdy enough to hold ALL the toppings your heart desires.

Better-Than-Storebought Greek Yogurt Pizza Dough
Who knew you could make pizza crust with Greek yogurt?? It’s like pizza sorcery, and I am here for it 🪄. I was just messing around in the kitchen one day and decided to try making dough with yogurt (kind of like my single serve cinnamon roll), fully expecting it to be a pizza edition flop. But to my surprise, it baked up into golden, chewy perfection that had me doing a little happy dance by the oven. Now it’s a full-blown family favorite—my kids inhale it like it’s their job, and I’m not mad about it. Honestly, it might be the easiest way to win dinner.

Ingredients and Notes

- Flour - I’ve tested this recipe with both all-purpose flour and a 1:1 all-purpose gluten-free flour. Both versions were great, but I did find that I needed to add just a little bit of water with the gluten-free flour. So, keep that in mind when assembling your dough!
- Greek Yogurt - I prefer to use 5% Greek yogurt for a richer taste, but 2% or 0% varieties will also work. Regular yogurt will work too but since it has a thinner consistency, you might need to add another tablespoon of flour.
- Seasonings - You can get creative here. I prefer Italian seasonings and sea salt which will create a delicious, savory, herbaceous taste.

Toppings the Whole Fam Will Love
I always brush my Greek yogurt pizza dough with olive oil before adding any toppings. This enhances the flavor and helps it become nice and brown in the oven. Then, I add a layer of pizza sauce and plenty of mozzarella cheese.
As far as toppings go, I’m partial to red onion, red bell pepper, and turkey pepperoni. Other great options include:
- Veggies - Mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach
- Meat - Ground sausage, pulled chicken, ham
- Extras - Olives, pepperoncini peppers, pineapple, basil leaves, red pepper flakes
For an even more filling meal, I often pair my Greek yogurt pizza dough pizza with sides and appetizers such as breadsticks, healthy chicken wings, air fryer roasted cauliflower, or a cucumber salad.

Yes, assemble the dough completely. Then, wrap it tightly with plastic wrap followed by aluminum foil, and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. When ready to bake, let the dough come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Then, roll it out, and proceed with the recipe as normal.
Bake the dough, and let the pizza cool completely. Then, transfer the pieces to an airtight container and store them in the fridge for up to 5 days. Enjoy cold, or reheat in the microwave or oven when ready to serve.

Recipe

Greek Yogurt Pizza Dough
Equipment
- 1 Large Baking Sheet or Pizza Stone
- 1 Rolling Pin or Glass
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour - all purpose or gluten free 1:1*
- ½ cup Greek yogurt - plain and unsweetened (I like 5% fat but 2% or 0% will work fine too)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasonings
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- 1 tablespoon water ONLY if using gluten free 1:1 flour
Toppings
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ cup Pizza sauce
- ¼ cup Mozzarella cheese
- Vegetables - I love using red onion and red bell pepper
- Meat - I used turkey pepperoni but also love ground sausage or pulled chicken too
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F. Prepare a large baking sheet or pizza stone with parchment paper on top.
- Make the dough. In a large bowl, add all of the ingredients and mix with a spatula or spoon until a shaggy ball of dough forms.1 cup flour, ½ cup Greek yogurt, 1 teaspoon baking powder, ½ teaspoon Italian seasonings, ¼ teaspoon sea salt, 1 tablespoon water ONLY if using gluten free 1:1 flour
- Knead the dough. The dough will be slightly sticky and shaggy. Transfer it to a lightly floured surface and knead it until it becomes smooth and pillowy. If you find it’s too after a few minutes, add another light dusting of flour. If it becomes too dry, add a small splash of water.
- Form the pizza. Once the dough is soft, use a rolling pin or glass to roll it into a large circle about ¼ inch thick. You should be able to make a 12 inch pizza. You can pinch the edges just a bit all the way around the pizza to create a crust.
- Assemble. Transfer the pizza to the baking sheet or pizza stone and brush with the olive oil. Then spread the pizza sauce on top, leaving about ½ inch from the edge for the crust. Sprinkle the cheese on top followed by your vegetables and meat, if using.1 tablespoon olive oil, ½ cup Pizza sauce, ¼ cup Mozzarella cheese, Vegetables, Meat
- Bake and serve. Cook the pizza for 16 - 20 minutes, depending on how crispy you like it. Allow it to cool for about a minute then slice into pieces, serve, and enjoy!
